Italian Style Tomato Face Mask

  • Half a tomato
  • One pinch of thyme, one of oregano
  • (Rice flour or cornflour)

Mix the tomato and herbs in a blender until the seeds are ground up. Depending on how watery the tomato is, you might want to add some flour to make the mask less runny (riceflour/cornflour will also help fight oily skin). Apply to your face and leave on for 10-20 minutes. If your skin starts prickling, it’s the acidity doing its job – if it’s too uncomfortable, rinse off. Rinse off with lukewarm water and finish off with a toner or a splash of cold water.

Hi, tried this today but without the oregano(I was out.) Loved it! I found you through crunchy Betty and I’ve reading your past posts-wondered what skin care regime you follow since we seem to have similar skin types. Thanks & loving your site! :)

Thanks! Always nice to hear that someone actually tries out the stuff :)
As for my skin care regimen, I vary it a lot, since I always try out new stuff for the blog. I’ve been planning on writing a post about it as well, this might be just the punch I needed for that :) I’ve been terribly busy lately with exams and stuff but hopefully by the end of this week I should have more time to get the blog going again. In general, I wash my face with a face wash or a scrub (scrub maybe once-twice per week), spray some cold toner over my face, and then finish off with a face oil of some kind. Once a week or every other week I do a face mask like this one.
But yeah, I’ll write a proper post on that as soon as I have the time. Hope to see you there ;)
