Recipes From Around The Web: Oatmeal

Beauty recipes from around the web using oatmeal

With its mild soothing and cleansing properties, oatmeal is one of the best cheap ingredients that you should always have in your beauty pantry. I’ve previously written about oatmeal’s properties, with a few recipes, but there are so many great recipes out there apart from these. That’s why I decided to gather a few from some of my other favorite green bloggers.

1. Chamomile Oatmeal Face Mask

This face mask sounds incredibly mild and soothing, I just feel like going home right now and make it.

2. Oats yogurt honey face mask

Very simple, but none the less very effective, this face mask is a great starting recipe for anybody who is just venturing out into the homemade beauty world, or who just wants a quick and effective way to clear up their skin.

3. Oatmeal Shower Bags

When using oatmeal in the bath or shower, these little sachets are really nifty as you don’t have to worry about clogging your drain and messing up your bathroom. Also, you can use them to scrub your face or body and get an exfoliation as an added bonus!

4. Wild Chamomile & Geranium Milk & Oat Herbal Bath Soak

Here’s another recipe that combines the soothing properties of chamomile with oatmeal.

5. Oatmeal Coconut Cookie Scrub

Oat meal coconut cookie … Just take a look at that picture and tell me you don’t want to eat that straight from the jar? I’m pretty sure it will do more good as a scrub though…

6. Dry shampoo

Ground oatmeal can be used as such as a dry shampoo for blondes, but I’d recommend you trying this recipe with a few other ingredients as well.

7. Oatmeal soap

For all you soapcrafters out there, this is a soap recipe that looks great, where oatmeal is one of the main ingredients.

8. Oatmeal Cleansing Bar

LisaLise’s cleansing bars are fantastic. This one uses oatmeal for a gentle cleansing experience.
